Red Star Over China
Red Star Over China
By Edgar Snow
Victor Gollancz, 1937, 464 pp

This important and interestingly written book gives the history of the Communist movement in China and of its influence in inducing the Chinese to resist Japan. The author is the only journalist to visit the Communist area in Northwest China and to return to tell the tale. His story is a superb piece of reporting, done with meticulous care. It is a distinct contribution to the history of contemporary China.
