Land Utilization in China

This monumental work on Chinese agriculture is based on a study of some 38,000 farm families in twenty-two different provinces made between 1929 and 1933 by a professor in the University of Nanking. Volume I contains a description -- copiously supported by statistical tables, charts and photographs -- of China's agricultural life. Volume II is an atlas and Volume III a compendium of the statistics gathered in the course of the investigation. This is without question one of the most fundamental works ever published on Chinese life.
