Léon Blum: Man and Statesman
Léon Blum: Man and Statesman
By Geoffrey Fraser and Thadée Natanson
Lippincott, 1938, 330 pp

This is described as the "authorized, definitive biography of Léon Blum," though it is difficult to see how it can be "definitive" so long as the Socialist leader remains an important factor in French politics. In any event, it is a well-written and convincing picture of Blum, first as a literary, then as a political, figure. Mr. Fraser is a British-American journalist and Mr. Natanson is a French business man and litterateur, one of Blum's oldest friends.
