Japan in Transition

By Emil Lederer and Emy Lederer-Seidler

Yale University Press, 1938, 260 pp.

A good book on the Japanese people, their country and their culture. The authors, who lived two years in Japan where Dr. Lederer was professor in the University of Tokyo, are especially convincing in their graphic analysis of the impact of the dynamic civilization of the West on Japan's static culture.
