My Pilgrimage for Peace

My Pilgrimage for Peace

By George Lansbury

Holt, 1938, 274 pp.

A plaintive cry for peace by the former head of the British Labour Party. Mr. Lansbury refuses to despair: "We pacifists must preserve our faith that love alone will save the world." He accepts the Van Zeeland Report and pleads for a conference representing all governments. "I am confident," he writes, "that Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Roosevelt, Blum and Chamberlain meeting together would soon find a way out."
