The dangers to liberty and democracy, says the author, are poverty and insecurity. To abolish these there now exist, he reminds us, the necessary technical means if only we can find a socio-political system that will permit them to be fully utilized. Laissez-faire he rejects as not only inadequate but harmful. The major portion of his book is occupied with an able presentation of what he holds to be a feasible program.
