Colonel Kisch forsook a promising army career to serve in Jerusalem as Chairman of the Jerusalem Zionist Executive. He sought to bring about improved relations between Jew and Arab, an undertaking opposed by fanatics in both camps and by a certain imperialist school of British officials. His journal covers the period 1923-1931.
