Mahan

By Captain W. D. Puleston

Yale University Press, 1939, 380 pp.

This is a biography of the American naval officer who became the greatest of modern naval strategists; it is written by a former Director of the Naval Intelligence Service at Washington. In preparing this book Captain Puleston drew upon his own experience as a naval officer as well as upon all the available documentary sources, including the private papers of the Mahan family.
