The use of pictorial symbols -- "isotypes" -- has become increasingly popular in recent years as a means of making statistics more readily comprehensible. Dr. Neurath, founder of the Social and Economic Museum at Vienna and originator of this technique, now applies it to a comprehensive representation of man's history and his present political, economic and social state.
