Mission to the North

By Florence Jaffray Harriman
Lippincott, 1941
331 pp. $3.50

This sequal to "From Pinafores to Politics" carries Mrs. Harriman's autobiography from 1936 to 1940, and in large part is an account of her experiences in Norway where she was American Minister from the spring of 1937 to the German invasion of April 1940. The story of her flight before the Nazis is particularly interesting.
