Flight in Winter
By John Clinton Adams
Princeton University Press, 1942, 281 pp

The dramatic story of the retreat of the Serbian Army through the mountains of Montenegro and Albania to the Adriatic Sea and the island of Corfu, where it was restored as a fighting unit and sent to the Salonika front. A useful book to read under present circumstances. Some may feel, however, that the author, assistant professor of history at Dartmouth College, has not succeeded in making an entirely happy compromise between the scholarly and the popular approach.
