A new atlas is especially welcome in these days when our European supply of good maps is cut off. Unfortunately, few of the maps give topography, and there is a rather lop-sided emphasis on American states which leaves too little space for detailed maps of the rest of the world. Moreover, many will quarrel with the fact that certain of the maps seem to accept the results of recent totalitarian aggression without proper explanation. The gazeteer and the extensive statistical summaries will be found most useful.
