The Führer's turgid rhetoric and bombastic verbosity defy translation, even into German. However, in this version of his chef d'oeuvre the translator, Ralph Manheim, has sought to preserve the sense (or otherwise) of the original. The United States Supreme Court has recognized Houghton Mifflin's sole right to the American copyright of "Mein Kampf."
