This volume is not to be taken seriously. It parades the men who might, in Countess Waldeck's opinion, lead post-Hitler Germany. Most of her choices for this Herculean task are -- after Prince Louis Ferdinand, grandson of the late Kaiser -- of the military, "he-man" type. However, she expresses so many doubts about even these that in the end she fails to make a case for any of her candidates.
