Mandate from the People
Mandate from the People
By Jerome S. Bruner
Duell, 1944, 278 pp

The author, who is associate director of the Office of Public Opinion Research at Princeton University, has sought to sketch a composite picture of American opinion on the coming problems of peace, domestic and international. In constructing his picture he has relied on the findings of the four principal public opinion polls. He finds a heartening majority against isolation but considerable confusion, and even contradiction, as to how greater American participation in world affairs can be implemented.
