The Wilson Era: Years of Peace -- 1910-1917
By Josephus Daniels
University of North Carolina Press, 1944, 615 pp.

This is the third volume in Mr. Daniels' autobiography, being a sequel to "Tar Heel Editor" (1939, 544 p., $3.50) and "Editor in Politics" (1940, 644 p., $3.50). In it, the former Secretary of the Navy adds his personal contribution to the history of the first Wilson Administration. Though his memoirs make few revelations, they fill in gaps here and there, notably in the development of the Navy, and fortify their author's place as a real statesman.
