The Argentine Republic

By Ysabel F. Rennie

Macmillan, 1945, 431 pp.

The author of this most timely volume has sought, in large part successfully, to give an objective and comprehensible interpretation of the last century of Argentine history. She treats economic and social questions as essential components of the political picture, and as a result that picture makes sense as has almost no other recent work on Argentina. There is a good selective bibliography.
