By Ray Stannard Baker

Scribner, 1945, 531 pp.

Mr. Baker (who has also written under the pseudonym "David Grayson") was one of Woodrow Wilson's closest confidantes and later became his official biographer. During his long and varied life he has kept copious day-by-day notebooks on which he draws for much of the material in this book -- the second volume of his autobiography. For students of international affairs the chapters on the Peace Conference and the League fight in America will prove the most interesting.
