New Frontiers in Asia

By Philip Jaffe
Knopf, 1945
375 pp. $3.00

This is a critique of economic and political imperialism in eastern Asia, by the editor of the review Amerasia. It is an able demonstration that the days of this unequal relationship must soon end. The rather uncritical praise which Mr. Jaffe has for Soviet policy and the Chinese "Communists," and the vehemently expressed disapprobation he shows toward all acts of the Kuomintang and of the American State Department, destroy one's confidence in his impartiality.
