Russia on the Way

By Harrison Salisbury
Macmillan, 1946
425 pp. $3.50

Mr. Salisbury, an American correspondent, spent eight months during 1944 reporting conditions in various parts of the U.S.S.R. His book is not profound or sensational but is full of keen observations on Russian ways and points of view. He is aware of the unhappy aspects of Russian behavior but sees no reason why we should fight over them.
