This is the "General Report on Mass Communication: Newspapers, Radio, Motion Pictures, Magazines, and Books" issued by the Commission on Freedom of the Press appointed by Chancellor Hutchins of Chicago University and financed largely with a grant from Time. It is brief and to the point, and it is critical of the manner in which the owners of the press (broadly defined) are discharging their obligations to the American public. It makes recommendations for remedying these derelictions.
