Way of a Fighter

By Major General Claire Lee Chennault

Putnam, 1949, 375 pp.

In the tradition of his onetime and despised superior, General Stilwell, the author condemns without stint (and sometimes without reason) most of his colleagues and superiors in China, where he began leading Chiang's air force against the Japs in the late thirties, and later organized the "Flying Tigers." Among the few upon whom he bestows his approval are the Generalissimo, Madame Chiang and, above all, himself in whom he has unlimited confidence.
