A Short History of Canada and a History of Canadian External Relations
By G. P. Det. Glazebrook and G. P. Det. Glazebrook
Oxford University Press and Oxford University Press (for the Canadian Institute of International Affairs), 1950, 238449 pp.
Of these two books by a professor of history at the University of Toronto the first is a condensed and balanced narrative of Canada's development from its colonial origins to its present status as a World Power. The second is concerned with Canada's external relations before 1914 (this portion was published separately in 1942) and with the development of an independent and specifically Canadian foreign policy in the years since the First World War.
