A Soldier's Story

By Omar N. Bradley
Holt, 1951
618 pp. $5.00

Certainly one of the best World War II military memoirs to have appeared so far. Limited to General Bradley's own extensive rôles, it traces the European war from Tunisia to the Elbe. Most interesting for its frank, frequently blunt but not malicious comments on fellow commanders.
