The New Turks

By Eleanor Bisbee
University of Pennsylvania Press, 1951
298 pp. $5.00

A friendly, informative and optimistic picture of the new, or post-Kemalist, Turks by a former professor of philosophy at Robert College. The author's desire to obliterate traditional Western anti-Turk prejudices, many of which were quite unfair, may lead her to draw too sharp a line between the new and the old Turkey.
