Cairo to Damascus

By John Roy Carlson
Knopf, 1951
474 pp. $4.50

The author, who writes under a pen name, has a penchant for going underground to do his reporting. He here records his experiences in the Near East while involved in various anti-Jewish semi-Fascist Arab organizations. Too full of movement and exotic local color to give a very satisfying picture of the Arab world today.
