The author, who writes under a pseudonym, purports to have enjoyed the wartime confidence of Voroshilov and other high Soviet officials. As one reviewer has noted, however, many passages in the book are similar to those of Allen and Muratoff's "Russian Campaigns of 1941-43," and the reliability of the whole must be regarded as doubtful. An Italian edition, "La Mia Carriera Allo Stato Maggiore Sovietico," has been published in Milan (Rizzoli, 1950, 240 p. L. 550).
