National Incomes and International Trade

By Hans Neisser and Franco Modigliani

University of Illinois Press, 1953, 396 pp.

This study deals with two problems: 1, how fluctuations in the domestic economy affect a country's external economic relations, and 2, what conditions in a country's international economic activities will maintain a desired level of national income. The elaborate use of economic methods has produced a book which will be of great interest to specialists. Some of them, it is to be hoped, will undertake to make its findings intelligible to laymen.
