Central European Democracy and Its Background
Central European Democracy and Its Background
By Rudolf Schlesinger
Routledge, Grove Press, 1953, 402 pp

Giving a somewhat specialized meaning to his title, the author is primarily concerned with the origins, development, and fall in the 1930's of the labor and Socialist movements in Germany, Austria and, to some extent, Czechoslovakia. A substantial piece of work with some interesting interpretations, though tied to the framework of Dr. Schlesinger's particular Marxist outlook.
