Approaches to Economic Development

Two professors of economics at the University of California make an extensive study of the issues relating to economic development of the underdeveloped areas. After analyzing the nature of the problem, they then examine historical patterns of development in England and Western Europe, Japan and the U.S.S.R., and conclude with a survey of the requirements and prospects for achieving economic development in the contemporary world situation. An important contribution to the literature in this field.
