Admiral Ambassador to Russia
Admiral Ambassador to Russia
By Admiral William H. Standley and Rear Admiral Arthur A. Ageto
Regnery, 1955, 533 pp

The greater part of Admiral Standley's memoirs is devoted to his years as American Ambassador in Moscow, from April 1942 to October 1943. While most of the story is familiar by now the book provides some useful additional insights into our wartime relations with the Soviet Union and especially into the Ambassador's efforts to have American aid to the Soviet Union appropriately recognized.
