Peasants, Politics, and Economic Change in Yugoslavia
Peasants, Politics, and Economic Change in Yugoslavia
By Jozo Tomasevich
Stanford University Press, 1955, 743 pp

An extensive description and analysis of the peasantry and agriculture in Jugoslavia during the inter-war period, introduced by a section dealing with political and socio-economic developments prior to 1914. The position of the agricultural population was, as the author puts it, "unenviable." No comparisons with the postwar situation.
