W Imieniu Kremla

By Stefan Korboński
Instytut Literacki, 1956
375 pp.

This volume is the continuation of the author's wartime memoirs (the first volume has been translated into English as "Fighting Warsaw," New York: Macmillan, 1957, and was noted here April 1957) and covers the period from the establishment of the Lublin government to the author's flight abroad in late 1947. Interesting insights into the attitudes of those Peasant Party members who, unlike Mikolajczyk, spent the war years in Poland and as a result did not have much confidence in his efforts at dealing with the Communists.
