Churchill--Roosevelt--Stalin: the War They Waged and the Peace They Sought

The story Mr. Feis has to tell is by now a familiar one--the history of the "Big Three" coalition from 1941 to the collapse of Germany in 1945. Most of his sources are familiar, too, although he has enjoyed access to the papers of W. Averell Harriman. Still, this is an important, and fresh, book. Mr. Feis writes with the advantage of 15 years' perspective, he has a talent for threading his way through a complex diplomatic crisis, and his unobtrusive judgments on wartime policies are both balanced and penetrating.
