Operation Sea Lion

By Peter Fleming
Simon and Schuster, 1957
323 pp. $5.00

An absorbing and beautifully written narrative of the German preparations to launch, and the British to repel, an invasion of England in 1940. In the author's view Operation Sea Lion was doomed to failure from the outset and the Germans did well not to launch it.
