A good deal of the history and local color of Goa is presented in this report by an author who has also written on the French wartime resistance movement. With regard to the Portuguese-Indian dispute, "What particularly struck the author of these lines was to discover that the Goanese evinced no desire to exchange the sovereignty of Lisbon for that of New Delhi."
