These are two new additions to the official history of the United States Army in World War II. The volume by Bykofsky and Larson, the last of three on the Transportation Corps, deals with operations in the various overseas commands-- virtually everywhere on the globe. The volume by Howe, the first to appear in the sub-series on the Mediterranean Theater of Operations, deals with the planning and execution of Operation Torch, the fighting in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia up to the victory in North Africa.
