Czechoslovakia and Romania and Hungary and Yugoslavia

By Vratislav Busek and Nicolas Spulber and Stephen Fischer-Gala

Praeger and Praeger and Praeger and Praeger, 1957, 2147483647 pp.

These four handbooks--all of them published for the Mid-European Studies Center of the Free Europe Committee--complete the ambitious series, "East-Central Europe under the Communists," under the general editorship of Robert F. Byrnes (earlier volumes on Albania, Bulgaria and Poland were noted here April 1957 and January 1958). While there is, inevitably, a good deal of unevenness in a collaborative venture of this sort, the series as a whole provides a most welcome body of reference material for students in the field.
