Das Gewissen Steht Auf and Das Gewissen Entscheidet

By Annedore Leber and Annedore Leber

Mosaik and Mosaik, 1954, 237303 pp.

Short sketches of Germans who refused to accept or submit to the Nazi régime, who resisted it, and who ultimately were killed for their beliefs. The first volume has been translated as "Conscience in Revolt" (London: Vallentine, 1957, 270 p. 25/; Westport, Conn.: Associated Booksellers, $4.50). The volumes include a remarkable series of photographs, many of them taken during the trials in the Nazi People's Court.
