Unholy Alliance
Unholy Alliance
By Gerald Freund
Harcourt, 1957, 283 pp.

A very able unraveling of the complex threads of Soviet-German relations between 1918 and 1926, a period when German desire for revanche and Bolshevik desire for revolution made common cause. While other scholars, diplomatists and journalists have written on the Rapallo agreement and the secret military coöperation, this is perhaps the best single account for those years.
