The Triumph of Tyranny

By Stephen Borsody
Macmillan, 1960
285 pp. $4.50

This is a history of the vicissitudes of Central Europe since 1918 with principal emphasis on the successive Nazi and Soviet conquests of the area. Professor Borsody, long a resident of both Czechoslovakia and Hungary, has an excellent feel for the area and yet writes with sobriety and balance. His principal thesis is the need, thus far not realized, of a federalistic solution.
