Firsthand Report
By Sherman Adams
Harper, 1961, 481 pp.

Mr. Adams, who served as Assistant to the President from 1953 until his clouded resignation in 1958, here gives a personal and extremely well-informed account of the Eisenhower Administration during those years. An important source for the historian, the book makes excellent reading. Several chapters deal with leading issues in foreign policy, and with John Foster Dulles' major role in the Cabinet.
