A Prime Minister Remembers

A Prime Minister Remembers

By Francis Williams

Heinemann, 1961, 264 pp.

The author of numerous works on the British labor movement and its leaders has prepared, on the basis of Lord Attlee's private papers and a series of taped interviews, the former Prime Minister's memoirs of the momentous years from 1939 to 1951. While the text is somewhat uneven, the interview technique makes for livelier reading than we usually associate with Lord Attlee.
