The Economic Structure of the Middle East
The Economic Structure of the Middle East
By Z. Y. Hershlag
Brill, 1975, 347 pp.

Building on his earlier work, Hershlag gives a composite picture of the Middle East economy (including Israel) that is both broad in scope and rich in detail, straddling rather successfully the dilemma of the topical versus the country approach. He shows how a "dual" economy has emerged with the growing inequality of nations consequent on the oil boom.
