Multinational Firms in Africa

Edited by Carl Widstrand
Africana Publishing Company, 1976
425 pp. $20.00

A superior collection-best on concrete data about multinational corporate penetration of Africa (including individual studies of Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Nigeria). Proposals for African achievement of independence and control over those firms wax vague and repetitive-the confusion of the economists about how to overcome dependency seems to parallel that of the host countries.
