In 1935 in Moscow, the former leader of the Italian Communist Party delivered these intelligent and relatively self-critical variations on the Comintern's sterile definition: "Fascism is the open terrorist dictatorship of the most reactionary, most chauvinistic, most imperialist elements of finance capital." This is still Soviet orthodoxy today.
