The United Front: The TUC and the Russians 1923-1928

A highly readable account of Soviet efforts to subvert the British Trades Union Congress by preaching mock unity on the Left; by 1926-27 these efforts had failed, and the United Front was dropped in favor of the hard line that denounced moderate socialists and facilitated the rise of Hitler. An important and timely topic.
