Soviet Naval Influence: Domestic and Foreign Dimensions

Edited by Michael Mccgwire and John Mcdonnell

Praeger, 1977, 657 pp.

This thick volume, encompassing 30 chapters by almost as many authors, is a companion piece to two earlier symposia on the Soviet Navy. Although the emphasis is intended to be on the political role of the Soviet Navy, on which there is some good writing here, too much extraneous material must be waded through.
