55 Days: The Fall of South Vietnam

By Alan Dawson
Prentice-Hall, 1977
366 pp. $12.50

The author was UPI bureau chief in Saigon before and for four months after the Communist victory in the spring of 1975. He focuses on military developments and uses biographical vignettes, slightly fictionalized, as one technique. His conclusions about American self-delusion in Vietnam are much the same as Snepp's (see above).
