This second volume (Vol. I noted in Foreign Affairs, April 1975) of a detailed history by an Israeli scholar covers the period in which the Palestinian movement became an activist force to be reckoned with by both the British authorities and the Jewish settlers. Drawing on British, Jewish and some Arab sources, the study is particularly good in showing how the growing connections between the Palestinian Arabs and the Arab states affected British policy and the dimensions of the Palestine question.
